My name is Basel, from Gaza. After more than 666 days of ongoing genocide and repeated failed attempts to secure a stable source of income to help my family survive and rely on ourselves instead of depending on donations, I’ve decided to launch this fundraising campaign.
The goal is to buy flour and food for my family of nine, and to pay the rent for the apartment we’ve been forced to live in after being displaced from northern Gaza to the center. I pay $600 in cash every month for rent, and a single bag of flour costs $500 in cash due to the extreme rise in fees—now exceeding 50%—to access money.
Part of the funds will go toward food and rent, and the rest will help me try to start a small income-generating project so we can stand on our own feet in this devastating reality.
The main goal is to raise $7,000, but after transaction fees, only about $3,500 will actually reach us. I truly hope to receive your support urgently, so we can complete this campaign in less than a month and secure food before things get even worse.
